The Balmoral Group is seeking a Sr. Financial Planning & Analysis Accountant to join its Winter Park office. This role will ideally transition into leading financial operations within a few years. The Balmoral Group is a forward-thinking company with active owners who continually strategize to ensure profitability and revenue stability. As a member of senior management, the ideal candidate will be comfortable in a leadership role that requires clear and effective communication skills. This position requires an understanding of current trends in project accounting, “big picture” forward thinking and the ability to adapt to change.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work with Project Managers to understand profitability, resource allocation, revenue recognition and performance monitoring
  • Develop and implement best practices and tools to ensure a well-controlled yet flexible organization that has strong fiscal management, project coordination, cross-team communications, and workflows.x
  • Lead and support scenario evaluation across categories of clients, contract types, markets, and expansion prospects
  • Work with Controller and executives to efficiently develop budget proposals, provide access to project finance information, and ensure regulatory compliance
  • Participate in strategic planning; lead profitability review and trend analysis for executive management
  • Work with executives to review the current planning process, suggest improvements to current methods, coordinate planning and establish priorities for the planning process
  • Study and monitor long-range economic and regulatory trends and project their impact on future profitability.
  • Evaluate process and policy for needed adjustments (regulatory changes in policy regarding federal contracting policies, local statute, overhead audits, audit package requirements, etc., ideally with FHWA, USEPA, FDOT or similar agency familiarity)

To Be Successful In This Position You Will Ideally Have...

  • Master's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or Finance or eight to ten years of financial management experience required. CPA a plus
  • Prior experience in an A/E/C industry environment; Deltek accounting software and job cost accounting, FP&A experience
  • Three or more years of experience in leadership roles
  • Advanced knowledge and understanding of applicable financial practices and procedures, state and federal rules and regulations, regulatory compliance and tax planning.

Pay: $100,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year
