Role Summary
We are seeking a Finance Director focused on regulatory readiness for a higher education operation with online delivery in the United States. In the initial phase, the priority is to support the review stage and the formal meeting with the State of Florida regulator, ensuring that financial evidence and documentation are complete, consistent, and aligned with regulatory expectations.
This position is temporary for the regulatory phase, with potential for extension after approval based on institutional rollout plans.

- Deliver audit-ready financial documentation (clarity, traceability, consistency, and deadline discipline).
- Translate regulatory expectations into clear financial support materials (evidence, policies, and narratives).
- Communicate confidently in formal settings, aligning stakeholders quickly and ensuring consistent positioning across documents.
How this role fits within the organization
This role partners closely with the Executive Leadership team and compliance/operations to enable regulatory approval. After the regulatory phase, the engagement may evolve into ongoing finance responsibilities, based on mutual alignment and institutional needs.
Responsibilities
- Lead preparation of the financial components required for the regulatory readiness process, ensuring consistency across documents, evidence, and narratives.
- Consolidate, review, and organize financial evidence and supporting materials relevant to the regulatory process.
- Define and review core financial policies (e.g., internal controls, approvals, segregation of duties, payment governance, recordkeeping).
- Coordinate alignment with accounting and third parties, as applicable, to support required deliverables and evidence.
- Attend a formal meeting with the Florida regulator alongside the Executive Leadership team, presenting financial rationale and supporting evidence.
Qualifications
- Proven finance leadership experience (e.g., Finance Director, Controller, Head of Finance, or equivalent).
- Preference for finance experience within higher education contexts (institutions, education groups, or related ecosystems).
- Strong documentation rigor, governance mindset, and ability to handle confidential information with sound prioritization.
- Professional English (written and spoken).
- Fluent Spanish (written and spoken).
- Portuguese is a plus.
