Organization Overview: NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness) Central Florida is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing advocacy, education, and support for individuals and families affected by mental illness. Our mission is to raise awareness, promote understanding, and provide resources to improve the lives of those impacted by mental health conditions.

Position Summary: NAMI Central Florida is seeking a dedicated and dynamic Development Manager to support our fundraising and community development efforts. The Development Manager will work closely with Senior Leadership and the Communications Coordinator to help secure financial resources, engage with donors, and contribute to the growth of the organization.

Key Responsibilities

Fundraising & Event Support-

· Oversee all aspects of NAMIWalks, NAMICF's signature spring event.

· Spearhead strategies that result in a substantial increase in funds raised during NAMIWalks, Greater Orlando.

· Successfully elevate participant registration and team engagement (Peer-to-Peer Fundraising).

· Cultivate new partnerships and sponsors to enhance support for NAMIWalks Central Florida

· Manage and oversee the silent auction component of NAMIWalks

· Manage NAMICF's Fall Gala of Giving HOPE, including planning, coordination, and on-site activities.

· Take responsibility for special event logistics, ensuring seamless execution.

Communications Coordinator Oversight

· Provide supervision and guidance to the Communications Coordinator in executing fundraising activities, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and timelines.

Social Media Collaboration and Oversight

· Collaborate with the Director of Programs and Communications Coordinator to oversee NAMICF's social media presence.

· Provide oversight on social media outputs, ensuring content aligns with the organization's messaging, goals, and engagement strategies.

· Work closely with the Director of Programs and Communications Coordinator to develop and implement social media strategies that align with the organization's mission and initiatives.

Database Management & Community Engagement -

· Utilize Donor Drive and Bloomerag to maintain accurate and comprehensive records of sponsors and individual donors.

· Generate effective and personalized correspondence through various channels, including emails, letters, and in-person meetings.

· Proactively build new community partnerships to broaden NAMICF's support network.

· Actively solicit individual and major gifts to contribute to the organization's financial sustainability.

Secondary Responsibilities

Administrative Support -

· Assist with administrative tasks, including data entry, record-keeping, and maintaining program-related documents.

· Answer phone calls, respond to emails, and provide information to individuals seeking assistance or resources.

· Build and maintain relationships with NAMICF volunteers, fostering a collaborative and engaged volunteer community.

· Develop a basic understanding of NAMICF's educational programs and the broader mental health landscape in Central Florida.

Qualifications

· Bachelor's degree or higher Required. Degree in event management, hospitality, nonprofit management, public admin, or similar field program preferred.

· Non-profit events and fundraising experience strongly preferred.

· Minimum of 3 years' experience in planning and implementing revenue-generating special events, with a focus on attracting new funders and corporate sponsorships.

· Familiarity with Bloomerag, Donor Drive, MailChimp preferred.

· Experience working with executives, donors, and volunteers, including managing, supervising, and orienting people on events.

· Ability to multitask, remain calm, and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

· Detail-oriented, self-starter with a sincere desire to support individuals, families, and loved ones affected by mental illness.

· Strong written and verbal communication skills.

· Practical problem-solving skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

· Sensitivity to individuals of diverse educational, economic, cultural, or racial backgrounds.

· Ability to communicate openly and without judgment, especially in situations involving individuals in mental health crises.

· Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

· Proficiency in Canva.

Work Environment

· In-office position, Monday to Friday, 9 am to 5 pm, with flexibility as needed. Typical weekly schedule Monday to Friday 9 – 5pm

· Flexibility to occasionally work evenings and weekends as required

· Travel within the Greater Orlando area will be necessary – we offer mileage reimbursement.

· Remote one day a week offered after 90 days.

· Health Reimbursement Account of $300 per month provided for full-time employees (NAMIGO does not currently offer health care benefits).

· 15 Days of PTO, 2 Personal Days and 7 Holidays.

· Salary: $48,000
