About the Role

The Director of FP&A will be responsible for overseeing the financial planning and analysis functions, ensuring alignment across business units, and providing strategic insights to drive performance.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the full corporate and project-level budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning processes.
  • Build, enhance, and maintain advanced financial models supporting development pipelines, capital planning, and project underwriting.
  • Partner closely with Development, Construction, Accounting, and Asset Management to centralize financial reporting and ensure alignment across business units.
  • Drive KPI development and reporting across the portfolio, including performance dashboards, variance analysis, and operational insights.
  • Prepare board-level and executive presentations summarizing financial performance, risks, and strategic recommendations.
  • Standardize and optimize FP&A processes, systems, and reporting structures.
  • Provide scenario modeling, cashflow forecasting, and financial support on investment committee materials.
  • Support capital markets and asset management teams with analytics related to debt, equity, dispositions, and value creation strategies.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Real Estate, Economics, or related field; MBA or MSRE preferred.
  • 7–12+ years of experience in FP&A, real estate finance, development, or investment—multifamily experience strongly preferred.
  • Exceptional financial modeling skills with deep experience in Excel and project-level analysis.
  • SQL proficiency strongly preferred—ability to pull, manipulate, and structure data sets.
  • Power BI experience is a major plus—including dashboard creation, KPI automation, and data visualization.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to convey insights to senior leaders and cross-functional teams.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.

Preferred Skills

  • Asset management experience is a significant advantage, especially with portfolio performance analytics or value-add / development assets.
