KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead and train your team to maximize meat and fish cutting yields, ensuring regular measurement and alignment with profitability benchmarks.
- Efficiently assign and prioritize tasks in the production room for timely order completion, optimizing product flow into packaging.
- Implement FIFO (First In First Out) practices for inventory management of all meat and fish products.
- Ensure customer specifications are met during meat/fish cutting, adhering to established par levels.
- Collaborate with buyers to maintain adequate inventory levels and assist in forecasting future production needs.
- Facilitate smooth transitions between shifts through effective communication with the second shift Supervisor.
- Work with Sales and Purchasing departments to plan and manage production based on customer orders and inventory requirements.
- Uphold food safety and quality standards by partnering with Food Safety & Quality Assurance to ensure compliance with HACCP, OSHA, and USDA regulations.
- Actively participate in safety training and incident reporting.
- Drive operational improvements to support strategic business needs.
- Deliver food safety training/resources to employees and ensure compliance with SQF standards.
- Promote a culture of accountability for food safety practices among team members.
- Encourage proactive communication regarding potential food safety issues.
- Support a continuous improvement culture within the team.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Directly supervise meat and fish cutters or production associates.
WORKING RELATIONSHIPS
- Internal: Collaborate with Management, Warehouse, Production, and Purchasing teams, engaging professionally with all levels of staff.
- External: Maintain professional interactions with customers and vendors.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- The role involves working in a cool, wet environment with temperatures between 34 to 38 degrees Fahrenheit, plus extended periods in a freezer set to between 10°F and -10°F, with provided apparel.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- A minimum of 2 years experience in managing or leading an hourly workforce is required.
- At least 2 years of experience in food production (meat, poultry, or seafood) is required.
- Previous experience in meat/fish cutting, yield analysis, and production processes is preferred.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
- A minimum of 2 years of production experience with at least 1 year in a leadership role is preferred.
- Proven supervisory experience is a must.
- Strong attention to detail, results-driven mindset, and effective communication skills are essential.
- Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment is required.

- Proficient in Microsoft Office and adaptable to varied shifts based on operational needs.
EDUCATION/TRAINING
- High school diploma or equivalent is required; a college degree or relevant experience is preferred.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
This role involves standing, walking, and the ability to lift and carry up to 75 lbs, along with frequent physical activities such as pushing, pulling, climbing, stooping, squatting, kneeling, and bending. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working in a dynamic, noisy environment, with certain tasks requiring lifting up to 45 lbs.
