Volunteer and Outreach Manager

CLASSIFICATION: Full-Time/Non-Exempt HOURLY RANGE: $18.27-$20.29 (DOQ)
POSITION DESCRIPTION: Manages the recruitment, processing, scheduling, training and recognition of volunteers. Coordinates, manages and participates in outreach and community engagement activities. Leads corporate accessibility efforts and promotes VSC as an inclusive and accessible agency using ADA compliant methods, social media, electronic communications, events and other community engagement activities. Assists with the coordination of VSC related events.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITY
Volunteer Recruitment & Management
- Assesses organizational needs and develops inclusive, accessible volunteer roles.
- Recruits, places, and manages volunteers and interns, including Sexual Violence Advocates, ensuring equitable practices and reasonable accommodations.
- Oversees background checks and maintains complete volunteer files per VSC policy.
- Serves as liaison between staff and volunteers.
- Manages the ADA-compliant volunteer portal and updates all program materials, policies, forms, and handbooks with attention to accessibility and survivor needs.
- Conducts inclusive orientation and training to support volunteer engagement and success.
- Develops and maintains volunteer schedules and supervises volunteers at special events.
- Tracks volunteer hours and maintains the volunteer database and statistics.
- Implements volunteer surveys and recognition efforts, including the annual appreciation event.
Community Engagement and Outreach
- Attends and coordinates outreach activities, including evenings and weekends.
- Builds community relationships to expand awareness and engagement.
- Promotes VSC programs, volunteer opportunities, and sexual violence awareness.
- Acts as a VSC “Brand Ambassador,” encouraging community involvement through sponsorships, donations, education, partnerships, and volunteering.
- Supports planning and coordination of fundraising and awareness events.
Event Support and Other Duties
- Perform miscellaneous duties and event related tasks as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Nonprofit Management, Business, Marketing, PR, or related field.
- Proficient with social media (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram) and Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and Canva.
- Experience developing inclusive volunteer programs and supervising volunteers.
- Strong commitment to VSC’s mission and goals.
- Ability to pass a Level II criminal background check.
- Reliable transportation with valid Florida driver’s license, insurance, and clean driving record.
- Excellent public speaking, writing and verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge of client confidentiality and able to work independently.
- Flexible schedule including nights and weekends.
- Strong multitasking, teamwork, and ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders.

Pay: $18.27 - $20.29 per hour
