Vice President of Finance

Position Overview

The Vice President of Finance serves as a key member of the executive leadership team and is responsible for overseeing all financial operations of the organization. This includes financial planning and analysis, accounting, budgeting, treasury, cost management, and risk oversight.

This leader partners closely with the CEO/President and senior leadership team to drive financial performance, support strategic growth initiatives, and ensure the organization maintains strong financial discipline and compliance. The VP of Finance will play a critical role in shaping financial strategy, improving operational efficiency, and supporting long-term business growth.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Financial Leadership

  • Develop and execute the organization’s financial strategy in alignment with corporate objectives.
  • Provide financial insights and data-driven recommendations to support executive decision-making and long-term planning.
  • Partner with executive leadership to evaluate strategic opportunities including mergers, acquisitions, partnerships, and capital investments.
  • Support business growth initiatives through financial planning, performance analysis, and strategic guidance.

Financial Management & Reporting

  • Oversee all core financial functions including accounting, budgeting, forecasting, financial planning, and reporting.
  • Ensure timely and accurate preparation of financial statements in accordance with GAAP or IFRS standards.
  • Present financial results, forecasts, and key insights to executive leadership and the Board of Directors.
  • Manage cash flow, working capital, and capital expenditure planning to support operational needs and future expansion.

Cost Management & Operational Finance

  • Lead cost accounting initiatives and financial analysis to drive operational efficiency and margin improvement.
  • Partner closely with operations leadership to strengthen financial performance across manufacturing, procurement, and supply chain functions.
  • Oversee inventory management and financial planning related to production and operational performance.
  • Implement and maintain robust internal controls to protect company assets and ensure financial integrity.

Leadership & Team Development

  • Lead and develop the finance and accounting organization, fostering a culture of accountability, transparency, and continuous improvement.
  • Build scalable financial processes, systems, and reporting capabilities to support the company’s continued growth.
  • Mentor and develop finance leaders across the organization.

Compliance & Risk Management

  • Ensure compliance with all financial reporting standards, tax regulations, and applicable legal requirements.
  • Oversee relationships with external auditors, financial institutions, and banking partners.
  • Manage enterprise financial risks including credit exposure, insurance coverage, and currency considerations where applicable.

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required
  • MBA or CPA strongly preferred

Experience

  • 10+ years of progressive financial leadership experience, ideally within a manufacturing environment
  • Strong expertise in cost accounting, financial planning and analysis, and financial modeling
  • Experience with ERP systems and integrating financial reporting platforms
  • Proven ability to support operational leadership in driving performance and profitability
