About the Company

Field Operations Director

Location: Downtown Orlando, FL

Serving as a strategic partner to the President, the Field Operations Director aligns field execution with company objectives, strengthens customer relationships, and builds scalable systems that support long-term growth.

Responsibilities

  • Field Standards & Continuous Improvement
  • Develop, implement, and continuously refine SOPs for field operations, including labor deployment, equipment usage, reporting, productivity tracking, and jobsite workflow standards.
  • Establish consistency and high performance across all field teams and job sites.
  • Site Operations Leadership
  • Oversee all field activities across multiple projects, ensuring the effective coordination of manpower, materials, equipment, and subcontractors.
  • Support superintendents and foremen in daily operations to drive efficiency and maintain project momentum.
  • Workforce Hiring, Training & Development
  • Recruit, develop, and retain a high-performing field workforce.
  • Lead training programs for field leadership—covering technical development, safety compliance, certifications, and performance management.
  • Promote a culture of continuous learning, upskilling, and team accountability.
  • Labor Forecasting & Resource Planning
  • Partner with the Operations Director and Project Managers to forecast labor needs and allocate resources based on project timelines, skill requirements, and workload.
  • Ensure field staffing aligns with company capacity and project demands.
  • Safety Program Leadership
  • Work closely with the Safety Manager to enforce safety protocols and foster a safety-first culture.
  • Review incident data, lead corrective action planning, and ensure job sites meet or exceed company safety benchmarks.
  • Quality Assurance Management
  • Define quality standards and implement structured inspection and closeout processes.
  • Support field leadership in achieving first-pass inspection success while eliminating recurring quality issues.
  • Technology, Reporting & Jobsite Systems
  • Identify field technologies to enhance efficiency—such as reporting apps, time tracking tools, and equipment management systems.
  • Train field staff in their use and apply data trends to drive improvement.
  • Cross-Department Collaboration
  • Serve as the operational bridge between field teams, project management, purchasing, and finance.
  • Provide field insights during scheduling, procurement, and preconstruction planning to ensure realistic and achievable project plans.
  • Subcontractor Oversight Framework
  • Create standards for monitoring subcontractor performance in the field.
  • Support superintendents in managing subcontractors to ensure adherence to safety, schedule, scope, and quality.
  • Client & Stakeholder Representation
  • Represent the company in key project meetings, walk-throughs, and client-facing discussions requiring field expertise.
  • Strengthen customer confidence through professionalism, preparation, and solution-oriented communication.
  • Organizational & Operational Improvements
  • Assess performance across all projects and recommend improvements related to staffing, structure, vendor utilization, equipment deployment, and field processes.
  • Drive initiatives that support scalability, efficiency, and profitability.

Qualifications

15+ years of progressive field leadership experience in large commercial electrical contracting (Educational, Municipal, Healthcare preferred)

  • Must pass drug test, background check, and MVR screening
  • Valid Florida driver’s license with clean driving record
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) strongly preferred
  • Proven ability to lead large field teams across multiple job sites
  • Experience enforcing performance, quality, and compliance standards
  • Ability to manage sensitive information discreetly and professionally
  • Licensed Journeyman or Master Electrician required
  • Strong change-management and process-improvement mindset

Education

  • High school diploma required
  • Technical training or electrical trade certifications strongly preferred
  • Advanced degrees (Construction Management, MBA, etc.) strongly preferred
  • PMP certification strongly preferred

  • Expertise in electrical systems, construction methods, and codes
  • Skilled at developing scalable field systems and processes
  • Strong leadership ability with a focus on coaching superintendents and foremen
  • Proficient in reading drawings, specifications, and scopes of work
  • Strong labor planning, forecasting, and resource coordination skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with construction/project management software
  • Comfortable using field technology and mobile applications
