Pre-K (Early Childhood) Substitute Teacher and Teacher Assistants

Job Summary: Early Childhood ONLY ( Infant to Pre-K )

The Substitute or Teacher Assistant assists the Teacher/LTA in an Early Childhood classroom of 9-18 early childhood (Infants – PreK) students with and without disabilities.

Job Responsibilities

• Implement lesson plans including instructional groups per teacher’s direction.
• Assist in planning and developing/setting up instructional materials for classroom.
• Utilize and ensure consistent implementation of behavior techniques and classroom management techniques and data collection.
• Perform lead teacher assistant duties in his/her absence.
• Provide caretaking/housekeeping duties as needed (i.e., changing of students, keeping classroom clean)
• Maintain positive staff and parent interactions and communication.
• Ensure administration is informed of all parent and individual student concerns and complaints.

Requirements

Education and Training

• G.E.D. or High School Diploma
• DCF 45 hour Training complete within 90 days of hire
• CRP/First Aid Training

Minimum Experience

• Prefer at least 1 year experience working with children preferably in a classroom setting.
• Prefer experience working with early childhood

Pay: $120.00 - $130.00 per day
