Senior Director of Marketing and Communications

The Sr. Director of Marketing and Communications will work closely with the senior leadership team to develop the vision and strategic internal and external marketing plans in support of the overall mission and goals of Citrus Council. This includes collaborating with teams throughout Citrus Council to support their initiatives and ensure the delivery of high-quality girl programs and positive volunteer experiences. The Sr. Director will lead the Marcomm team and work side-by-side to ensure a strong presence on all marketing platforms, orchestrating advertising and using data and performance to drive growth in key segments throughout the council’s six counties.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Work with senior leadership to develop and execute large-scale marketing strategies which serve to meet Council-wide objectives through multi-tiered marketing approaches to include digital and print advertising, media communications, public relations, external networking and creative messaging.
Collaborate with other teams to provide marketing support and manage production timelines for campaigns and events including, but not limited to, fundraising events, membership campaigns, retail promotions, Product Program, and girl/volunteer events and programs.
Oversee and approve the production of all printed and digital collateral materials in compliance with national Girl Scout brand standards. Including web, video, design and copywriting.
Pitch and coordinate media interviews, B-roll, and news releases to generate a strong presence in regional media channels.
Create and execute a cross-channel social media plans to include targeted and re-targeted advertising campaigns.
Stay informed on major national marketing campaigns and integrate these at a local level.
Work with the Data team to provide regular analytical reports on performance of social, printed, radio, or other advertising and public relations initiatives to drive business decisions and achieve council goals.
Manage the Marketing budget with accurate forecasts on expenses for key campaigns throughout the year.
Manage third party freelance photographers and/or videographers, agencies and printers.
Work with Membership to provide mentorship and direction to Girl Scout media club; requiring program plan, identifying opportunities for development and producing girl-centric messaging.
Advocate on behalf of the Girl Scout brand in all campaigns and initiatives throughout the organization, ensuring the brand voice and vision are consistent in all produced materials.
Qualifications, Skills & Education
Bachelor’s in marketing, public relations, or other relevant field is required.
At least 5 years of experience in Strategic Planning and External Marketing.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook, Teams and SharePoint.
Knowledge of Adobe Suites to include Illustrator, Photoshop, Premier Pro, Adobe Marketing Cloud and Adobe Experience Manager.
Proficient in website and social media site maintenance and design.
Experience in developing and executing research-based public relations and marketing plans.
Experience in project management.
Valid driver’s license, use of a personal vehicle and proof of current vehicle insurance.
Willingness and ability to work regular and varied hours, including evenings and weekends.
Ability to work independently, while demonstrating a strong ability to work as a team.
Outstanding communication and presentation skills.
Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to successfully pass background screening.
Register annually for a GSUSA membership and have a favorable criminal background check.
Bi-lingual (Spanish and English).
Preferred
Master’s Degree in related field.
1+ year of previous experience in Girl Scouting.
Experience in a non-profit organization is a plus.
Sales Force and Looker a plus.
Physical Requirements
