Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced and visionary Dean of Nursing to join our team as an independent contractor. The ideal candidate will provide strategic leadership and oversight for the nursing program, ensuring the highest standards of academic excellence, compliance, and student success. You will work closely with faculty, staff, and administration to develop and implement innovative nursing education programs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Academic Leadership: Provide strategic leadership and direction for the nursing program. Develop and implement academic policies and procedures to ensure high standards of educational quality.
  • Curriculum Development: Oversee the development, evaluation, and revision of nursing curricula to meet accreditation standards and industry needs. Ensure curricula are evidence-based and incorporate best practices in nursing education.
  • Faculty Management: Recruit, mentor, and evaluate nursing faculty. Foster a collaborative and supportive environment that promotes professional growth and excellence in teaching.
  • Student Success: Develop and implement strategies to support student recruitment, retention, and graduation. Monitor student progress and provide guidance and support to ensure academic success.
  • Accreditation and Compliance: Ensure compliance with all accreditation standards and regulatory requirements. Prepare and submit accreditation reports and manage site visits.
  • Budget Management: Develop and manage the nursing program budget. Ensure efficient allocation of resources to support program goals and initiatives.
  • Partnership Development: Establish and maintain partnerships with healthcare organizations, clinical sites, and other stakeholders. Promote collaboration and opportunities for student clinical placements and faculty practice.
  • Research and Scholarship: Promote a culture of research and scholarship within the nursing program. Support faculty and student research initiatives and disseminate findings.
  • Continuous Improvement: Lead ongoing program assessment and quality improvement efforts. Utilize data and feedback to enhance program effectiveness and outcomes.
  • Community Engagement: Represent the nursing program in community and professional organizations. Advocate for the nursing profession and the program's mission and goals.

Qualifications

  • Education: Doctoral degree in Nursing (PhD, DNP) or a related field.
  • Experience: 10+ years of experience in nursing education, with at least 5 years in a leadership role such as Dean, Associate Dean, or Director of Nursing.
  • Technical Skills:
  • Strong knowledge of nursing education standards and accreditation processes (e.g., CCNE, ACEN).
  • Proficiency in curriculum development and instructional design.
  • Experience with budget management and resource allocation.
  • Soft Skills:
  • Exceptional leadership and management abilities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strategic thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.

Contract Details

  • Type: Full-time position
  • Duration: Project-based, with potential for ongoing collaboration
  • Compensation: Competitive, based on experience and project scope
  • Location: Hybrid, Must be local to Orlando FL
  • Hours: Flexible, depending on project requirements
