Assistant General Manager (Multi-Attraction Entertainment Venue)
Dezerland Park OrlandoThe Assistant General Manager (AGM) supports the General Manager in overseeing the daily operations, financial performance, and team leadership of the amusement park. This role is a hands-on operational leader responsible for ensuring exceptional guest experiences, driving revenue, and maintaining high standards across attractions, food & beverage, events, and facilities.
The AGM plays a critical role in executing strategic initiatives, developing department leaders, and ensuring operational excellence while acting as the Manager-on-Duty in the absence of the General Manager.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
1. Operational Leadership & Execution
- Support the General Manager in overseeing daily park operations across attractions, rides, games, food & beverage, retail, and events.
- Act as Manager-on-Duty, ensuring seamless park operations, especially during peak periods, weekends, and special events.
- Conduct regular walkthroughs to monitor safety, cleanliness, service quality, and operational efficiency.
- Ensure adherence to all SOPs including ride operations, food safety, cash handling, and emergency procedures.
- Assist in planning and execution of seasonal operations, special events, and high-volume days.
2. Guest Experience & Service Excellence
- Champion a guest-first culture by modeling exceptional service standards.
- Actively engage with guests on the floor to resolve issues, gather feedback, and enhance the overall experience.
- Support implementation of guest satisfaction programs and service quality metrics.
- Ensure a safe, clean, and fun environment across all guest touchpoints.
- Partner with marketing and events teams to deliver engaging guest experiences and promotions.
3. Financial Performance & Cost Control
- Support P&L performance by managing daily revenue drivers and controlling operational expenses.
- Assist in analyzing financial reports to identify trends, opportunities, and cost-saving initiatives.
- Help manage labor scheduling, inventory control, and cost efficiencies across departments.
- Ensure proper use and maintenance of POS, ticketing, and inventory systems.
- Drive initiatives to increase per-cap spending and overall park profitability.
4. Team Leadership & Development
- Lead, coach, and support department managers and supervisors to achieve operational goals.
- Assist in recruiting, hiring, onboarding, and training team members.
- Foster a positive, high-performance culture focused on accountability, teamwork, and guest service.
- Support performance management processes, including goal setting, feedback, and development planning.
- Build bench strength by implementing robust training and development programs across all departments.
- Promote an inclusive and positive work environment with high levels of morale and retention.
5. Facility, Safety & Compliance
- Support oversight of ride safety inspections, maintenance schedules, and facility upkeep.
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations, including safety and labor laws.
- Coordinate with vendors and contractors for repairs, maintenance, and improvements.
- Assist in emergency preparedness planning and staff training.
- Promote a strong culture of safety and risk management throughout the park.
6. Strategic & Administrative Support
- Partner with the General Manager to execute strategic initiatives and operational improvements.
- Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and capital planning processes.
- Monitor key performance indicators and support action planning.
- Step in to lead meetings, reporting, and cross-functional coordination as needed.
- Serve as a liaison between departments to ensure alignment and communication.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of leadership experience in amusement parks, attractions, hospitality, or high-volume entertainment venues.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Hospitality Management, or related field preferred
- Experience in both Attraction Operations and Food & Beverage Operations preferred
- Proven experience in supervising teams and managing daily operations.
- Strong financial acumen with exposure to budgeting, cost control, and revenue management.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, guest-focused environment.
- Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Experience with POS, ticketing, scheduling, and maintenance systems.
- Knowledge of safety regulations (OSHA, food safety, ride safety standards).
- Bilingual (Spanish/English) is a plus.
Work Environment & Schedule
- Full-time, on-site leadership role requiring flexibility based on park operations.
- High visibility position with significant time spent on the floor supporting team members and guests.
- Requires extended hours during peak seasons, weekends, and holidays.
