The opportunity

Delaware North Parks and Resorts is hiring a full-time Event Coordinator to join our team at the Kennedy Space Center in Merritt Island, Florida. As an Event Coordinator, you will be responsible for providing support to the marketing events team. If you are organized, detail-oriented, and passionate about delivering memorable event experiences, this role is a great opportunity to join a dynamic team and work in a unique environment.

What will you do?

  • Assists with coordination and implementation of marketing events.
  • Data entry, writing event plans and conducting market research.
  • Assists in the preparation of event notices for internal distribution.
  • Update and maintain prospective and current vendor databases.
  • Update and maintain all reports related to marketing events.
  • Other responsibilities as required by management.
  • Drive a company vehicle around the property and to events.

More about you

  • Must be at least 18 years old and have a valid driver’s license.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing/Communications/Event and Hospitality Management preferred (or currently in process).
  • Must have previous related experience.
  • Must demonstrate excellent customer service to all guests and internal customers.
  • Must have excellent communication and organizational skills (both written and oral).
  • Must have excellent telephone skills and email etiquette.
  • The ability to handle multiple tasks is required.
  • Must be available to work flexible hours (day and evenings), holidays, nights and weekends.
  • Some local travel is required.
  • Must be self-motivated and have the ability to work with little direct supervision.
  • Must be computer literate and proficient in Microsoft Office.

Physical requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time. This may include being outside in all weather conditions during events.
