This is our Christian mission, and it inspires us to help make communities healthier and happier.You Will Be Responsible For:Demonstrates through behavior AdventHealth's core values of Integrity, Care, Balance, Excellence, Stewardship, and Teamwork as outlined in the organizations Performance Excellence Program booklet.Assist with implementation and day-to-day operations of the Corporate Responsibility Program across the Hospital System while ensuring compliance with governmental requirements.Audit/investigate corporate responsibility problems, questions, or complaints received internally or from outside customers/agencies.Write/review audit programs, supervise staff, and conduct compliance and privacy audits that support the Hospitals corporate responsibility plan.Implement and complete the annual AHS M&A Plan by conducting/supervising audits and working with other department directors, executives and medical staff, and write, organize and implement an ongoing corporate responsibility audit program to determine compliance with and possible improvement in all established Hospital policies, procedures, systems and objectives based on risk assessments and the Hospitals priorities.QualificationsWhat You Will Need:EDUCATION REQUIRED:Bachelor degree in accounting, business, health care administration or related fieldEXPERIENCE REQUIRED:Minimum 10 years work experience which includes performing audits in health care fieldDemonstrate strong analytical, organizational and project management skillsDemonstrate strong technical and professional accounting skillsDemonstrate ability and expertise to evaluate financial and other operational systems to establish internal control procedures to safeguard the Hospitals assetsDemonstrate expertise in report writing and oral communication skillsAbility to work and communicate effectively with all levels of management, both clinical and non-clinicalDemonstrate a working knowledge of hospital operations and be able to discuss operational issues with clinical management/staffAbility and expertise to evaluate operational systems, and policies and procedures to determine they are adequate to meet compliance requirements and privacy laws and regulationsAbility to write QMF queries to extract data from the Hospitals mainframe computer systemPossess analytical and problem solving skillFamiliar with management information systems capabilities and proceduresWorking knowledge of personal computer business applications and ability to learn new information systems and software programsWorking knowledge of Medicare and Medicaid billing issuesDemonstrated expertise with Microsoft Office software including AccessLICENSURE, CERTIFICATION, OR REGISTRATION REQUIRED:Certified Public Accountant or Certified Internal AuditorLicensure, Certification, or Registration Preferred:Certified in Healthcare ComplianceCertified in Healthcare Privacy ComplianceCertified Compliance & Ethics ProfessionalCertified Fraud ExaminerCertified Financial Services AuditorJob Summary:The Director is responsible for completion of corporate compliance, corporate responsibility and privacy audits in addition to financial and operational audits, and performs other routine duties and special audits and investigations. The Director assists Senior Hospital management by providing independent appraisals, analysis, recommendations and pertinent comments. In addition to performing audits and investigations for AdventHealth, the Director will conduct/supervise/assist in compliance, corporate responsibility and privacy audits at AdventHealth Waterman, Centra Care, AHMG, and other ancillary businesses as required by the Adventist Health System (AHS), senior management, and the AH Corporate Responsibility Officer. The Director is responsible for the completion of the annual Monitoring and Auditing Plan (M&A Plan) prepared by the AHS Corporate Responsibility Department. The Director completes requirements in the M&A Plan by conducting/supervising audits performed by Corporate Responsibility Department staff and/or working with other Hospital Directors, Senior Executives and Medical Staff to obtain their assistance in performing required monitoring and auditing steps. The Director will offer input to improve the annual M&A Plan. The Director will perform risk analysis in the compliance and privacy areas and determine if additional audit procedures are necessary to assure senior management that controls and procedures are functioning as intended. The Director is responsible for suggesting changes to Hospital policies and procedures to improve the control environment and reduce the risk of compliance failures and privacy violations. The Director is responsible for supervising and training the AH Corporate Responsibility Department audit staff. Additionally, the Director is responsible for determining that policies and procedures adequately safeguard Hospital assets and contribute to achieving the missions and goals of the Hospital as well as meet the requirements of DNV and other applicable Federal, State, and local regulatory and/or accrediting agencies including Medicare, Medicaid, and the OIG. The Director is conversant on generally accepted accounting principles, generally accepted auditing standards, other financial pronouncements, EMTALA, 340B Drug program requirements, and HIPAA laws and regulations.
