Engineering Manager, Mobile Apps

Overview

In this role you will lead the development and operational excellence of enterprise mobile solutions across iOS, Android, tablets, and rugged field devices. You will build high-performing React Native apps, optimize them for complex environments, and drive secure deployment at scale. You will partner with external vendors to certify and support third-party applications on Honeywell and other enterprise hardware, shaping Signature Aviation's mobile strategy and enabling field operations. This is a hands-on leadership role at the intersection of technology, operations, and vendor collaboration, with a clear impact on enterprise mobility at scale.

Responsibilities

• Lead mobile engineering teams delivering React Native applications
• Oversee delivery and optimization of mobile apps across Honeywell devices, iOS/Android devices, and tablets
• Coordinate with external vendors for integration, certification, deployment, and lifecycle management of third-party apps
• Drive architecture decisions with Solution Architects for secure, scalable mobile systems
• Guide Agile delivery, cross-functional collaboration, and alignment with product, UX, and QA
• Ensure security, compliance, performance, and device-level validation of mobile releases
• Manage deployment processes, OTA updates, and large-scale fleet management
• Own governance around integrations with enterprise systems (scheduling, HR, reservations, CRM, POS)
• Promote best engineering practices (clean architecture, automation, secure coding, CI/CD)
• Mentor and develop mobile teams and enforce high-quality design and delivery practices

Key requirements

• 8+ years of mobile engineering experience with hands-on React Native development
• 3+ years in engineering team leadership or management
• Experience deploying apps on Honeywell rugged devices, tablets, and mixed environments
• Strong background in MDM/EMM, fleet deployment, and device lifecycle management
• Experience partnering with third-party vendors for mobile integration and support
• Understanding of barcode scanning APIs, offline-first architectures, and network reliability
• Experience with APIs, microservices, cloud platforms (Azure preferred), and CMS (Strapi, AEM)
• Proficiency with Agile/Scrum tools (Jira, Confluence, GitHub) and collaboration tools (Figma)
• Strong communication, organizational, and prioritization skills in fast-paced settings
