Trade Compliance Specialist

Overview

In this role you will support trade compliance operations to ensure compliant export/import activities. You will maintain HTS classifications, country of origin determinations, and import/export documentation while aligning with U.S. regulations and internal policies. You will collaborate with customs brokers, freight forwarders, and cross-functional teams to optimize processes and manage regulatory risks. You will also contribute to ERP data integration and performance reporting to track duty exposure and program results. This is a hands-on role offering visibility into trade programs and the chance to drive efficiency in international shipments.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate HTS codes and country of origin determinations for imports/exports
• Apply proper U.S. Customs valuation methods
• Review and maintain import/export documentation (commercial invoices, packing lists, certificates of origin)
• Track shipments for customs delays and regulatory holds
• Support Customs programs such as Duty Drawback and Temporary Import Bonds
• Coordinate with customs brokers and forwarders for pre-clearance and shipping instructions
• Assist with ERP integration of trade data (e.g., SAP material master)
• Assist with internal audits and CBP entry pre/post reviews
• Provide reporting on trade compliance metrics and duty exposure

Key requirements

• 3+ years in trade compliance, customs, or international logistics
• Basic knowledge of U.S. Customs regulations and Foreign Trade Regulations
• Basic knowledge of HTS classification, valuation methods, and country of origin determination
• Experience with ERP systems such as SAP
• Experience with Trade Automation / SW solutions
