You collaborate across brand marketing, finance, supply chain, category management, and shopper marketing to deliver aligned strategies and initiatives. You lead customer interactions, launches, plans, and budgeting while shaping voice of the customer for internal leadership. You balance long-term growth with day-to-day execution, optimizing pricing, promotions, and cost management. Responsibilities
  • Develop and drive account strategy for short and long-term profitable growth aligned with business plans
  • Position products, programs, and promotions to maximize sales with the account
  • Lead customer interactions (new items, annual plans, logistics) and serve as voice of the customer to internal leadership
  • Develop and deliver engaging sales presentations and follow-up to generate new business opportunities
  • Lead the customer account planning cycle to meet needs and expectations
  • Develop and monitor the account sales budget and adjust plans to achieve targets
  • Manage account program costs (advertising, rebates, buybacks, slotting) to maximize sales
  • Identify and champion ongoing cost reduction initiatives
  • Conduct internal and external business reviews to measure sales performance
  • Assess competitive pricing and ensure profitability within brand positioning
  • Collaborate with product divisions on new product ideas and launch plans
  • Manage internal forecasting procedures
  • Analyze customer needs and build business cases for feasibility
  • Gather and share market intelligence on product performance, customers, competitors, and opportunities
  • Lead account projects and mentor other Retail Account Managers
  • Operate as a high-level individual contributor with limited management duties
  • May participate in hiring, performance reviews, and staff development
  • Requires strong verbal and written communication for remote collaboration
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Travel up to 50% for business purposes
Key requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in business-related field
  • At least 8 years of direct sales and/or account management experience (CPG and increasing responsibility)
  • Advanced knowledge of sales acumen, trade, category management, and marketing concepts/methods
  • Demonstrated ability to execute sales and marketing strategies
  • Ability to analyze market trends, develop presentations, and forecast business
  • Experience presenting to senior management or C-suite and influencing decisions
  • Independent action-taking capability and project/leadership experience
  • Strong time management and ability to juggle multiple projects
  • Proven cross-functional collaboration and problem-solving skills
  • Comfort sharing strategic proposals with internal and external leadership
  • Excellent verbal and written communication for remote work
  • Proficiency with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
