Senior Water / Wastewater Project Manager

Overview

HDR invites a proven leader to steer medium to large drinking water and wastewater projects in Florida as a Senior Water/Wastewater Project Manager. You will interface with clients and lead engineers and CAD professionals to deliver planning documents, design, and cost estimates, while managing risk and QA/QC. You'll mentor staff, support business development, and collaborate across Florida to uphold HDR's commitment to technical excellence. This employee-owned role offers the chance to influence project delivery and grow HDR's footprint in Orlando and Central Florida.

Responsibilities

• Interface with clients as the trust project manager for multiple technical delivery projects
• Develop project design criteria, schematics, and methods
• Prepare preliminary design, basis of design, routing studies, and engineering reports
• Develop and write engineering specifications and front-end documents
• Oversee production of design drawings and QA/QC/risk management plans
• Collaborate with owner to ensure project exceeds expectations
• Lead or support business development, including pursuit planning, proposals, and client strategy
• Mentor staff and support technical development and compliance programs
• Engage in client management activities and contribute to marketing strategy

Key requirements

• Bachelor in Engineering
• 10 years related experience
• Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent
• 5+ years project management experience
• MS Office and MS Project experience; Access is a plus
• Proven leadership and strategic planning skills
• Excellent communication, time management, and interpersonal skills
• Experience supervising staff
• Local Orlando area relationships desired
