We are looking for a dedicated Emergency Communication Specialist to join our team. This crucial role involves responding to emergency and non-emergency calls for service while ensuring accurate information transfer to the appropriate response units.

Key Responsibilities

• Answer 911 and non-emergency calls promptly and professionally.
• Gather critical information from callers to ensure an effective response.
• Dispatch police, fire, and EMS units efficiently during emergencies.
• Monitor radio channels and respond to requests in real-time.
• Utilize diverse computer applications to enter and retrieve information.
• Perform general office duties as required.
• Provide CPR and First Aid when necessary, as well as Emergency Medical Dispatch Pre-Arrival instructions.
• Screen and manage incoming calls effectively.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent, supplemented by up to one year of relevant training.
• Typing speed of at least 35 words per minute with accuracy.
• Valid state of Florida driver's license.
• Ability to pass a fingerprint-based national criminal history record check.
• Bilingual candidates are preferred.
• Willingness to obtain FEMA 100, 200, and 700 certifications within 6 months.

Skills Required

• Strong knowledge of police department protocols and emergency communication terminology.
• Ability to maintain composure and efficiency in high-pressure situations.
• Excellent public relations and communication skills.
• Independent judgment and discretion in assisting various individuals.
• Proficient in modern office practices and equipment.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to operate various office and communication equipment.
• Must be capable of lifting and carrying weights up to 20 pounds.
