The Clinical Operations Director will supervise, manage performance, and train Clinical Directors within their assigned market. This role is critical in achieving performance objectives, maintaining financial growth, and promoting a positive culture. In addition to overseeing clinical outcomes and management, some time will be allocated to direct patient care as a Primary Care Provider (PCP) along with other clinical duties. The distribution of time will be influenced by factors such as PCP capacity, market demands, and regional leadership direction.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure accountability for clinical outcomes and manage day-to-day operations of Medical Directors across multiple centers.
- Drive success in clinical operations to meet or exceed market earnings plans.
- Mentor and coach Medical Directors to achieve exceptional clinical outcomes.
- Facilitate talent development among PCPs, NPs, and Medical Directors through training, mentorship, and performance management.
- Cultivate a culture centered around ChenMed's core values, behaviors, and service standards.
- Assist in onboarding and training new practitioners within the designated centers.
- Support the recruitment of high-quality PCP and specialist candidates.
- Build and maintain successful relationships with payers, specialists, and community stakeholders.
- Monitor and nurture a positive market culture, addressing workplace concerns promptly.
- Review and approve center-level referrals and provide backup for market referral authorization.
Additional Responsibilities Include
- Assist with quality and performance improvement initiatives as directed by leadership.
- Oversee monthly performance scorecard reviews and quarterly clinical metric analysis.
- Train staff across other ChenMed units as necessary.
- Build strong connections with providers and market stakeholders.
- Utilize local market insights to drive impactful clinical initiatives.
- Implement cost reduction and market strategies effectively.
- Deliver outstanding care to a patient panel as a PCP (20% of time).
Qualifications
- MD or DO in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, Geriatrics, or a similar specialty required.
- A minimum of 3 years of clinical experience is required; 5 years preferred.
- At least 2 years of experience as a Medical Director or equivalent is strongly preferred.
- Board eligibility is required.
- Board Certified in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, Geriatrics, or similar is preferred.
- Must hold an active medical license in the state of employment.
- Proven physician leader with a strong track record of clinical excellence.
- Familiarity with population risk management and chronic disease care management is essential.
- A collaborative approach to working with interdisciplinary teams in quality improvement is preferred.
Salary Range
$257,939 - $368,485
