Safety Health & Environment Manager

Overview

In this SH&E Manager role, you will lead safety, health and environment efforts for AECOM's East Region. You will support diverse sites and operations, identifying actionable solutions and guiding incident management to drive safer practices. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve safety programs, training, and policies. This is a hands-on, regionally focused role with travel and a mix of remote and in-office work, offering meaningful impact on communities and projects.

Responsibilities

• Provide visible safety support across the region
• Monitor safety programs at diverse sites (construction, remediation)
• Identify actionable solutions for safety/health/ENV issues
• Lead incident management and validate corrective actions
• Review site safety plans, training, audits and safety programs
• Recommend policy and procedure changes
• Train and coach employees at all levels
• Assist operations in meeting safety performance targets
• Conduct safety training and lead group meetings

Key requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field and 8+ years in SH&E or equivalent
• Professional certification (CSP or CIH)
• Valid driver's license with clean record
• Advanced Microsoft Office skills
• Ability to motivate, build teams and influence safety culture
• Ability to build trusted relationships with clients and partners
• Experience working cross-functionally and with dispersed teams
• Experience with data management/analytics platforms (Power BI, Power Automate)
