Field director

Overview

We are seeking an energetic and motivated Field Director to lead dynamic outreach and community engagement initiatives. In this role, you will oversee field operations, manage teams conducting canvassing and face-to-face communication, and drive community-focused campaigns. Your leadership will ensure the successful execution of outdoor activities, customer interactions, and fundraising efforts. Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise field teams conducting door-to-door canvassing, outreach, and community engagement activities.
• Coordinate outdoor work schedules, ensuring team safety and efficiency during walking-based campaigns.
• Train team members in effective face-to-face communication, negotiation, and customer service techniques.
• Oversee the use of mobile devices for data collection, reporting, and communication during field activities.
• Engage with community members through conversational engagement to promote campaigns or fundraising initiatives.
• Monitor team performance, provide feedback, and motivate staff to meet or exceed outreach goals.
• Ensure compliance with safety protocols during outdoor work and maintain a positive representation of the organization in the community.

Experience

• Proven supervising experience managing field teams or outreach programs.
• Strong background in marketing, sales, or community engagement with a focus on face-to-face interactions.
• Experience in canvassing, door-to-door sales, telemarketing or outdoor work environments.
• Excellent communication skills in both verbal and written formats; bilingual abilities are a plus.
• Demonstrated ability to build rapport quickly through conversational engagement and negotiation.
• Familiarity with mobile devices for data entry and reporting during field operations.
• Prior experience in fundraising or community outreach programs is highly desirable.
